Baa, baa, black sheep
Baa, baa, black sheep,
Have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir,
Three bags full;
One for the master,

And one for the little boy

Get to know the animals

POLAR BEAR
Polar bears are the largest bears in the world. They can weigh as much as 1100 pounds or more and stand ten feet tall. Polar bears live in Arctic areas with extremely cold weather, such as Alaska, Canada, Russia, Greenland and Norway. Even though their fur is white, polar bears actually have black skin. Their dark skin helps to absorb the sun's rays and keep them warm. Polar bears also have black noses and lips and purple tongues. Along with their thick fur, polar bears also have a three-inch layer of blubber under their skin to help keep them warm while swimming is cold water and walking on ice.

LION
Lions are members of cat family. They live on the savanna together in groups of fifteen to forty lions. These groups are called prides. Lions are the only cats with manes. Female lions, called lionesses, do not have manes; only the males do. Lions are also the only cats with tufts of hair at the ends of their tails. Is this lion male or female? In addition to taking turns babysitting and nursing each others cubs,lionesses usually hunt together as a team for the whole pride. Lions can roar louder than other big cats, such as leopard, tiger, or jaguar. A lion's  roar cab be heard up to five miles away. Most lions don't start roaring until they are about two years old.

ELEPHANT
There are two kinds of elephants, African with very big ears and Asian elephants with smaller ears. An elephant uses its trunk for breathing, smelling and picking up favourite foods such as hay, grasses and plant roots and putting them in their mouths. To clean off, elephants suck water into their trunks and then hose themselves down. Baby elephants, which are called calves, may use their trunks to hold on their trunks in their mouths to soothe themselves, like the way human babies suck their thumbs or pacifiers. An elephant's wrinkly skin is very sensitive. Elephants usually roll around in mud and throw dirt on their backs to keep their skin cool and to protect its from sunburn and insect bites.

TORTOISE
Tortoise is one of the longest-living animals on earth. Many of them live for more than 150 to 200 years. The giant tortoise can grow to be six feet long and almost 500 pounds. To rid themselves of ticks and other bugs, giant tortoise get same help from birds. The tortoise will raise itself up on its legs and stretch out its neck to invite birds to rest on its head and remove any pests that might be on its body. If a tortoise senses danger, it will hide its head, neck and legs inside its hard shell. Unlike turtles, tortoise spend their lives on land. They eat shrubs grasses and even cacti.

Animal Story

Bears like honey, but not bees!

      Bruce was a big bear that lived in the Highlands of Scotland. He was covered with dark brown hair, had four large paws, a wet nose on the end of his snout, and hazelnut colored eyes. Bruce spent most of his time in his cave, coming out only when he was hungry. He was a rather lazy bear. He’d rather sleep than do anything else.
